Immerse yourself in the world of the Brothers Grimm, visit the wolf in the Knüll wildlife park, marvel at the traditional Schwalm costume with its red riding hood or try the famous Ahle Wurscht as if from Little Red Riding Hood's basket.
HIKE
Well-marked hiking trails run through the Little Red Riding Hood country and promise relaxation and enjoyment of nature. Premium trails, cultural and themed hiking trails or short circular trails lead through fairytale forests, small half-timbered villages and quiet meadow valleys im Knull Nature Park. The lookout towers in Little Red Riding Hood Land offer great views of the vastness of the landscape.
CASTLES AND PALACES
Defiant castle ruins, a historic water fortress and a rose castle invite you to a journey through time. The journey leads through a fairytale landscape and through romantic half-timbered towns to Jesberg Castle, Herzberg Castle, Hohenburg Castle ruins, Neuenstein Castle, Wallenstein Castle and the Ziegenhain Water Fortress. Tour 2 on the tour map, which also leads through Little Red Riding Hood country, is an exciting round trip for your "own carriage", but also for motorbikes, convertibles or mobile homes. Every year on the 4th Sunday in May, the Day of Castles and Palaces offers a varied program to experience and participate in.
